I’m desperately searching for The Perfect Flying Sandal for our trip this summer. I ordered a pair of very nice Teva sandals on sale last week, but when they arrived, I discovered that they have a little elastic band that digs into the back of my heel. Not good. I shipped them back today for a refund. I think I’m going to wait for the LL Bean sandals I wore the last two summers to go on sale, so I can order another pair (since our dog has since chewed them up).

I really loved my LL Bean Explorer sandals because they were sturdy yet soft, lightweight and breathable. I wore them nearly every day and found that they dried easily if they got wet. They were great for flying and walking, but I never went for a serious hike with them. That was my concern for using them on our trip this summer, because we plan to do some hiking out west. I have a feeling they’ll be fine, though, since I’ve never been disappointed with any LL Bean product. (And no, they are not sponsoring us.)
