Discovery Flight

Our virtual discovery flight offers 60 minutes of flight instruction using our FAA-approved Elite PI-235 Advanced Aviation Training Device. This experience offers a wide variety of possibilities including:

• Sightseeing tours of any location anywhere in the continental United States, Alaska or Hawaii
• Flying through clouds
• Takeoff and landing
• Simulated emergency scenarios

If you’re serious about becoming a pilot but have never flown a small airplane before, then a discovery flight in our 2-seat Cessna 150 or 152 or our 4-seat Cessna 172 is the first step. This is not an aerial sightseeing tour where you are a passive passenger. When you fly with us, you’ll receive a real flight lesson during which you get to experience the freedom and satisfaction of controlling an airplane from takeoff to touchdown. The airplane has dual flight controls so your instructor can help you or take over at any time.

The experience includes a detailed pre-flight safety briefing as well as a post-flight debriefing and discussion of our training program. During the experience you will learn some of the basic principles of flight including:

• How the flight controls are used to maneuver the airplane
• How the wings generate the lift required to keep the airplane aloft
• The redundant safety features that are incorporated into the design of the airplane
