Scheduling

Effective May 22, 2026: We have modified our scheduling policy to better serve our customers. See below.

Flight and ground lessons are available seven days a week by appointment using our online scheduling system, Flight Circle. Customers may book single, 2.5-hour blocks or double, 5-hour blocks, with a minimum instructor charge of 2 hours for a single block or 4 hours for a double block. The rate for flight or ground instruction is $80/hour. The blocks are as follows:

  • 7 am – 9:30 am
  • 9:30 am – 12 pm (12-1 is our lunch break)
  • 1 pm – 3:30 pm
  • 3:30 pm – 6 pm
  • 6:30 pm – 9 pm (6-6:30 is our dinner break)

Double blocks are encouraged for all flight lessons originating at Craig Airport (mandatory for all cross country flights) as this allows ample time for a detailed pre-flight briefing and post-flight debriefing, with 1-3 hours of flight time per session. Due to traffic volume and departure delays at Craig Airport, it is often difficult to accomplish lesson objectives within a single 2.5-hour block. Single blocks are adequate for flight simulator sessions and ground-only instruction at Craig. To schedule a night cross country, please contact your instructor directly.

If you wish to use our Hilliard Airpark location, please contact Meredith Holladay at (904) 423-0790 to schedule. Aircraft based at Hilliard include the Breese 2 S-LSA (for ultralight transition training) and a Cessna 150 for sport and private pilot training. We will have a Cessna 172 based at Hilliard soon as well. Meredith and Dana Holladay are the primary instructors serving customers at Hilliard Airpark.

Cancellations

We understand that occasionally, a customer will need to cancel a lesson on short notice due to unexpected circumstances such as illness, or an urgent work or family obligation. If you are going to be late or need to reschedule, please call or send a text message to your instructor as soon as possible (preferably no later than 6 a.m. if your lesson begins at 7 a.m. that same day).

  • Illness — If you are sick or suspect that you might be getting sick, you may NOT come in for a lesson. Anyone who enters our facility visibly or audibly ill will be sent home immediately. This includes guests and staff members. There is no charge for cancelling due to illness, even on short notice.
  • Weather — Students should assume that their scheduled lesson will be conducted rain or shine. In the event the weather is not suitable for a flight, a ground lesson will be conducted.
  • No-shows may be billed for 2.5 hours of instruction.
  • If you cancel a flight lesson with an instructor within 24 hours, for any non-emergency reason, and we are unable to rebook the lesson, you may be billed for 2.5 hours of instruction.
  • If your instructor determines that the lesson should be rescheduled for any reason, including weather, you will be contacted by the instructor and no cancellation fee will be assessed.
  • If your scheduled airplane is unavailable due to maintenance, we will make every attempt to move you to another airplane. If this is not possible, your instructor will conduct a ground lesson or contact you to reschedule.

Billing and Payments

Students will be billed for the entire time that the instructor is providing ground instruction and/or flight instruction; this includes the pre-flight briefing and post-flight debriefing. Aircraft rental is billed separately. State and local sales tax (7.5 percent) is added to all solo aircraft rentals. This does not apply to dual instruction flights or discovery flights.

Payment is due after each lesson and can be made using a major credit card, check or cash.

Customers who pay via cash, check or Zelle will receive a 3 percent bonus credit on their flight training account for all payments of $1,000 or more. Payments of less than $1,000 will not be eligible for the bonus credit. If using Zelle, search for the tag “HolladayAviation” or use the QR code located in the Flight Circle Dashboard.

All unused account funds are fully refundable, less any bonus credits applied.

Monthly Maintenance Fee

A monthly maintenance fee of $50 will automatically be assessed on the first of each month for all customers who use our aircraft for training or rental. The fee is waived for customers who use their own aircraft for training, customers who only use our flight simulator, and for customers who are active duty military.

Orientation

There is a $50 fee for all new customer orientations. This may include: processing a student pilot certificate, a logbook audit (see below), collecting TSA documentation, and reviewing all Holladay Aviation policies and training program materials.

Logbook Audits

Any pilot with previously logged flight time must submit their logbook for auditing by Holladay Aviation management before beginning any training program for a certificate or rating. This does not apply to pilots seeking a flight review or IPC. Prior to orientation, we will provide the pilot with a spreadsheet that must be completed and returned at orientation. The pilot’s physical logbook must be legible and clear, with all entries accurately noted and all column and page totals added. If submitting an electronic logbook for audit (i.e. ForeFlight), please print out a summary and all relevant pages including instructor notes and endorsements. Highlight any required training with a highlighter or sticky note (i.e. long solo cross country, night flights, etc). If we are not able to determine whether the required training has been completed and logged correctly, it must be repeated with a Holladay Aviation staff instructor. No exceptions.

Student pilots who began their training at Holladay Aviation with no previously logged flight time will also be required to complete an audit prior to their first solo, and also before receiving an endorsement for a practical test. Contact your staff instructor for details.

Please note that if your logbook is lengthy and/or in a state of disarray and it takes us more than 15 minutes to review your spreadsheet and documentation, we will bill you for our time at our normal hourly rate.

Aircraft Rental

For more information, please see our Rental Checkouts page.

Fueling

All renters must return the aircraft with full fuel tanks unless specifically authorized by a Holladay Aviation staff member. Renters will be reimbursed for fuel purchases at the current Craig Airport FBO self-serve rate. Proper refueling procedures are included in the initial rental checkout and will be reviewed during annual proficiency checks.
